Interview with Josh Benjamin
What inspires you to compete?
The drive, the competition. The way i feel in a race car or in a seat.I wanted to race seriously since i was 15 and tha is when i first learned how to ride a sport bike.To meet People just like me who want to won and get sponsored and live there dreams. The want to go faster and faster around a track and set records. To be able to know ur doing what ur gut wants u to do and to get payed to do it is just an added bonus.
Why do you like this sport?
Racing period is just an amazing thing that has came up before i was born and to be able to be a well known person doing what u love is just one of those thing nothing else can compare to. Racing is on of those thing were all else doesnt matter but u finishing on top and meeting cool people doing it. The ability to get better and better and faster and faster on whatever ur source of racing is a feet on its own. The respect u get at just being a small time racer as iam is amazing and to be able to sit on top in a higher level of racing the hat is off to them and hopefuly me at a period in my life in the very near future.
Some Personal Information About Me:
Born in Washington St. The rain state. at the age of 1 or so my mom took me to Germany to live with my grandparents. and soon later moved back to washington growing up on pretty much two wheels i used to dirt BMX on my old Diamondback. That was my only transportation growing up going from neighborhood to neighborhood. I was always fascinated with racing to Mario Kart on 64 to Gran Turismo WRC racing on the first Playstation. I never got the chanc to be takin serious in me wanting to race since i was unfortunately not in a racer family passed down from the ages to be one day a great racer. I had to go after it on my own. To this day that is what im trying to do.
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
I actualy love to travel. One of my dreams is to be able to travel around the world. Im not one to stay at one spot at one given time. I like to just get on my bike and ride to where ever my full gas of tank will take me. My cleanest Trip would have to be every time i go to the lake or canyons. Not trying to brag but iam pretty consistent on my lake runs i ride quite the same not trying to kill myself yet keeping the same pace. Im thankful to live right next to a riders paradise to the suoro Lake. I try to get out there all the time but sometimes i dont like to without a riding partner. people drive stupid up there.
Employment / Experience Summary
Bondurant School of Driving is my place of work. i started off as a tech and trying to work my way in a more seat time position. So i can better myself at what i love to do. Driving all the cars out there give me realy good expierience to Caddilac to corvette learning how every car handles by the number is tough since we have well over a hundred cars to learn and take care of.
