Overview

How I got started

I got a late start on riding and racing at the age of 25. I bought my 1st bike (CR125) in 1987 and participated in my 1st race later that year. I finished 22nd out of apprx. 25 riders in the `C` class. I began to practice 5 days a week and the following year purchased a CR250 and an ATV. I raced all 3 machines almost every weekend during the summer. By the end of 1988 I was an amateur on the bikes and racing the `A` class in ATVs. I continued racing quads, 125, and 250s through 1990. By 1991 I was racing the `A` class on all my machines (Hondas) throughout Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota & Montana. I quit racing ATVs in 1992 and concentrated on motocross and supercross in Colorado and Wyoming. In 1994 I also started racing Vet A, and then in 1996 after realizing that I was aging and slowing down I relented to pressure and moved back to the amateur classes where I have been to this day. During the 15 years I have been racing, I have won several championships in Colorado & Wyoming, and finished in the top 3 in countless others.

Goals for the Future

I am very excited about 2006. I feel that I can finish at the top, if not win all my classes in the Wyoming arenacross series. And for the Colorado SRAC supercross series I am convinced that I will be able to clinch the Vet B class and also plan on finishing in the top of the 125 and open B classes, in addition to the Senior A class. I would also like to be able to go to either the World Vet Nationals or an Amateur national in Washougal or Millville if finances and scheduling permit. In addition, I plan on racing some of the BooKOO Arenacross and the Clear Channel Arenacross races.

Bio

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

I was jetting my bike at a big local event, I forgot to put in a main jet. A 250 will run just fine without a main jet until the get drops & you wick it wide open.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I am a driver for UPS so I get to see & talk with hundreds of people during the weekdays. I enjoy interacting with all the different individuals and making many contacts and friends in different fields. When I am not working or riding, I like to spend time working out and running to stay in shape, and when that is all done I will try to spend some time at local coffee houses, theaters, and libraries. Most of my activities revolve around being in public & around other people.I also spend time building and repairing computers for friends and acquaintances. I am single so I am able to run free as I please, which allows my adventuresome lifestyle. I like trying new things all the time.

Competitive Highlights

Some of my best times were not on winning days. Any time I walk away smiling and with the knowledge that I gave it my `all`, it is a great day.
ie. Pulling the holeshot at Washuogal on amateur day on my CR125, against all those open bikes, what a rush! Winning the 0-250cc class hillclimb and hearing Dusty Beer, national hillclimb champ, say that he never saw a guy on a 125 go like that. Founding and designing the local MX track and being able to win the 125A class on the inaugural race. And I hope that I will be able to add to this list continually for the rest of my time.
